Dan Penner and John LaRosa combined on a two-hitter to lead Cal State Northridge to a 14-0 victory over UC Irvine Tuesday at Northridge.
Northridge scored twice in the third inning and three times in the fourth off Irvine starter Craig Brink (0-2).
Northridge finished with 16 hits, including three each by John Balfanz and Jimmy Mitchell.
Northridge added three runs in the sixth and six in the eighth.
Azusa Pacific 8, Chapman 7--David Titchenal’s sacrafice fly in the eighth inning broke a 7-7 tie at Hart Park.
Frank Anguiano led off the eighth with a walk and gave way to pinch-runner Terrance McMillan, who went to second on a ground out and third on a Ralph Acosta single before Titchenal’s fly to center off loser Darrell Speech.
Darren Nelson had three doubles and a walk for the Panthers (0-1).
