Fountain Valley : Gunman Gets Cash From Market Clerk
- Share via
A ski-masked bandit brandishing a handgun made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after confronting a supermarket clerk, authorities said.
Police Department spokesman Larry Griswold said the robber entered an Alpha Beta store in the 8900 block of Warner Avenue at 11:49 p.m. Wednesday, just as the market was closing for the night and the few remaining customers were leaving.
“They had actually closed the front doors,” Griswold said. “He entered as one customer left, approached one of the clerks, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded cash. He was given a small amount of cash and carried it out in a paper bag to a car waiting in the front parking lot.”
Griswold described the vehicle as a light-yellow Ford Mustang, license unknown. He said witnesses did not get a good look at the getaway driver.
