Monrovia : Speed Limit Changes OKd

Following the recommendations of a traffic study, the City Council has increased the speed limit from 35 to 40 m.p.h. on Central Avenue between Mayflower and Mountain avenues, Evergreen Avenue between Mayflower and Mountain avenues, Foothill Boulevard between 5th and Mayflower avenues, and Myrtle and Shamrock avenues between Huntington Drive and Duarte Road.
The speed limit on Hillcrest Boulevard between 5th and Canyon avenues and Myrtle Avenue between Hillcrest and Foothill boulevards will increase from 30 to 35 m.p.h. But the speed limit on Huntington Drive and on Lemon Avenue from Mountain Avenue to the eastern city limit, and on Mayflower Avenue between Huntington Drive and Duarte Road, will decrease from 40 to 35 m.p.h. It will also drop from 35 to 30 m.p.h. on Mayflower between Foothill Boulevard and Huntington Drive.
The new limits are expected to take effect in April.
