Muslim extremists in Egypt battled police with chains and stones and torched a Christian home in two separate incidents that left one woman dead, more than 22 people injured and 78 others under arrest, the Middle East News Agency said. It said the woman was killed in the village of Shabas el Shuhad, 100 miles north of Cairo, when extremists set fire to a Christian’s home and the blaze spread to seven other homes. In Suhag, 300 miles south of Cairo, 11 extremists and 11 police officers were injured during a demonstration.
