Indicted Rep. Ford Hospitalized

WASHINGTON — Rep. Harold E. Ford (D-Tenn.) indicted last month on financial fraud charges, was hospitalized today after complaining of chest pains.
Ford, 41, was taken by ambulance from his Capitol Hill office in the early afternoon. Ford was indicted April 24 on charges he peddled political influence in his largely black district of Memphis in exchange for loans from the banks of financiers Jake and C. H. Butcher Jr.
