Zenith National Insurance Corp. said its earnings rose 287% to $12 million, or 57 cents a share, as revenue increased 18% to $107.0 million.
The Encino-based insurance company, which specializes in workers compensation insurance, said income from operations rose 271% to $9.6 million, or 46 cents a share.
Zenith has been growing over the past year largely because of contributions from its CalFArm Life casualty and property operations acquired in 1985 and contributions from its reinsurance division, which insures other insurance companies.
