WASHINGTON — The Pentagon on Monday made available telephone lines for relatives seeking information about American sailors aboard the guided missile frigate Stark, which was hit by Iraqi missiles Sunday, causing at least 28 deaths.
“Final muster is in progress and thus not yet complete,” the Navy said, indicating the casualty list could still be revised.
Names of those dead and injured were being withheld until their next of kin could be notified.
The Pentagon said relatives seeking additional information can call 1-800-368-3202.
