Sir Rudolf Bing, former head of the New York Metropolitan Opera, says he is “fully aware” of his marriage to a woman 37 years his junior and doesn’t want an annulment. A New York judge ruled last week that the 85-year-old Bing, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, is incompetent to manage his $900,000 estate. He also allowed Bing’s conservator, Paul Guth, to start proceedings to annul Bing’s 4-month-old marriage to Caroll Douglass Bing, 47. “I certainly do not want an annulment,” Bing said in a Yorkshire TV interview broadcast Wednesday. “It is my business whom I marry.”
