Not surprisingly, “Beverly Hills Cop II” turned in the biggest opening day of the year so far Wednesday, grossing $4,206,144 at 2,326 theaters for a per-screen average of ‘$1,808, Paramount Pictures announced Thursday. The original “cop,” which opened on a Friday, earned $15,214,805 at 1,532 theaters in December, l984.
