Ex-Reagan Aide Silent in Probe

WASHINGTON — Johnathan Miller, a White House aide who resigned upon disclosure he took part in funneling money to the contras, appeared for less than five minutes today before special prosecutor Lawrence Walsh’s grand jury but apparently declined to testify.

Miller declined comment as he left the U.S. District courthouse with three attorneys after a brief morning appearance before the grand jury. One of his attorneys, Pat Christmas, however, indicated that Miller had declined to testify. “Johnathan Miller looks forward to speaking out at the appropriate time and in the appropriate forum. But this morning was not the appropriate time nor the appropriate forum,” Christmas said.
