American Medical called in two bond issues early.

American Medical International said that by calling in the two zero-coupon Eurobond issues sold in 1982, the hospital chain will save about $360 million because it can refinance the bonds more cheaply. AMI will pay about $90 million in principal and interest to redeem the bonds now, compared to $200 million for the issue due Aug. 12, 1997, and $250 million for the issue due Aug. 12, 2002, if they were allowed to go to maturity.
