Poindexter, North and the Congressional Committee

As an admitted cynic when it comes to politics and politicians, I have to also admit that a bright spot for me in watching the hearings has been observing that there are some exceptionally intelligent, thoughtful and articulate members of Congress.
Crossing party lines--Sen. Warren Rudman (R-N.H.), Sen. William Cohen (R-Me.), Sen. Paul Sarbanes (D-Md.), Rep. Thomas Foley (D-Wash.), Sen. George Mitchell (D-Me.), Rep. Lee Hamilton (D-Ind.) and Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) specifically--have recognized and addressed the difference between carrying out foreign policy vs. creating it. Their references to the fact that every member of government, including the military, has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and that no one is above the law puts into perspective the real issue of this investigation.
I hope the above named senators’ and representatives’ constituents recognize the quality of men they have elected because they are serving us all well.
