‘Ooray for Ollywood’

Ooray for Ollywood? As a statement against the “Olliemania” that has mesmerized some of the nation since Lt. Col. Oliver L. North’s testimony about the Iran- contra scandal, four self-described environmentalists today changed the “Hollywood” sign to read “Ollywood.”
“People are blindly making a hero out of someone who did something very wrong. The nation needs to reevaluate its values if it idolizes Oliver North,” said Danny Finegood, 32, one of the artists who draped a sheet of black plastic over the “H” on the sign. “The change was an attempt to mock these people.” By 11 a.m. today, park rangers had restored the sign to read “Hollywood.”
