Actor Sean Penn Off Wanted List

Actor Sean Penn is no longer a wanted man.

A warrant for Penn’s arrest was quashed Wednesday after he was located in Berlin making a movie, Los Angeles Deputy City Atty. Alice Hand said. The warrant was issued Monday after Hand said she suspected that the 26-year-old actor had not abided by the terms of an agreement that postponed his 60-day jail sentence for violating probation.

The court had given Penn time to complete the film, “Judgment in Berlin,” before entering jail on Aug. 1. Hand requested the warrant after hearing reports that the actor was seen last week in New York and Los Angeles when he was scheduled to leave for West Germany on July 11.

Penn left the United States a week later than expected because movie production was delayed, said Penn’s attorney, Howard Weitzman. He called Hand “irresponsible” for requesting an arrest warrant based on “rumors” and without contacting him to ask about Penn’s whereabouts.
