Du Pont’s income increased 11%to $504 million in the second quarter. The Wilmington, Del., company credited continued strength in chemical and specialty products businesses. Revenue was up 13%. Improvement in those businesses helped offset lower earnings from petroleum businesses, which were off by 53%, the company said.
