Granny Flats Seminar Slated

So-called “granny flats” and other types of accessory housing will be discussed at a 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seminar Nov. 9 at the Greater Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, 404 S. Bixel Ave.
The meeting, subsidized by the United States Administration on Aging, is designed to create partnerships between realtors, lenders and remodelers who will work together in creating small rental units in single-family homes. The units can be rented out to older people with limited incomes, and the revenue the units generate can help single parents and first-time home buyers meet their monthly mortgage expenses.
Accessory-housing consultants and other real-estate professionals will speak at the seminar, which is sponsored by the United Way and the Building Industry Assn.
