Nine Designers Given Awards for Lighting

Nine lighting designers won International Illuminating Design Awards at the annual Illuminating Engineering Society conference held in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Winners of the Awards of Excellence were: Mike DeMello and Bao Le of LDW Inc., Costa Mesa, for the Holiday Spa Health Club in Riverside; Cliff Ishii, Cliff Ishii and Associates, Newport Beach, and Larry Frapwell, Hill Partnership, Long Beach, for Bubble’s restaurant, Newport Beach, and J. Todd Stoutenborough, Architects Pacifica Ltd., Newport Beach, and Tom Ruzika, the Ruzika Co., Irvine, for the Crystal Court Mall, South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa.
Receiving the special citation for use of neon in the Spectrum Club, Manhattan Beach, were: Gregory Smith, LDW Inc., Costa Mesa, Roger Charles, Miller-Truax Associates, Irvine, and Gregory Shuben, Raygal Design Associates, Irvine.
