Bolanos Scores 3 Touchdowns in Irvine Win

Senior wide receiver Tony Bolanos caught three touchdown passes to lead Irvine High School to a 27-9 South Coast League victory over San Clemente Friday night at San Clemente.
Irvine took the opening kickoff and went 75 yards on 6 plays, with quarterback Jeff Jones scoring on a 13-yard run. Jones completed a two-point conversion to Chris Hampton to give Irvine an 8-0 lead.
The Vaqueros’ next score came in the second quarter when Jones threw a lateral pass to wide receiver George Koutures, who hit Bolanos with a 43-yard touchdown pass.
San Clemente fullback Jack Salerno cut the lead to 14-7 on a one-yard run. Jones and Bolanos connected on two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.
The win gave Irvine (2-3, 5-5) a fourth-place finish in the South Coast League. The Tritons (0-5, 2-8) finished in last place.
