Resdel Industries, a Newport Beach electronics firm, reported that earnings for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 fell to $3,000 from $423,000 for the like period in 1986. Sales rose to $3.9 million, compared with $3.4 million for the first quarter of fiscal 1986. Bruce Rossiter, chief financial officer, attributed the lower earings to work on a contract yielding lower-than-normal profit margins, higher interest expenses, and costs associated with the acquisition of San/Bar Corp. In September, San/Bar, a telecommunications firm based in Irvine, was merged into Resdel.
