Theodore Brunner of Laguna Beach, a professor of classics at UC Irvine, and David Packard of Los Altos Hills, president of the Packard Humanities Institute, will receive the Medal for Distinguished Service from the American Philological Assn. at the group’s annual meeting Tuesday in New York City. They are being honored for their development of a unique ancient-language program at UCI. The Thesaurus Linguae Graecae is the world’s only computerized data bank of ancient Greek texts.
