BOSTON — Six Polish sailors who jumped ship while in Boston Harbor applied for political asylum Wednesday, and an aide to Mayor Raymond Flynn pledged to help in their attempt to remain in America.
“We’ll make sure that they will have access to a translator, that they will have a place to stay, that is being worked on with people in the Polish-American community who have helped in the past,” said Ray Dooley, the city’s director of administrative services.
