Woman Kills Son, Then Herself Over Grade

BEIJING — A Chinese woman who beat her only son to death because he scored less than 90 out of 100 in a school test has killed herself while awaiting trial.
The New China News Agency, reporting from Qinghai province in western China, said Wu Yuxia, 35, left a note expressing remorse for killing the 9-year-old boy, then hanged herself in jail.
