Simon to Skip Super Tuesday, but Stay in Race

WASHINGTON — Sen. Paul Simon said today he is bypassing the primaries on Super Tuesday in the South and elsewhere because he does “not have the resources for winning” there.
But the Illinois Democrat promised to continue his campaign in his home state and in the primaries that follow.
“The campaign will begin anew after Super Tuesday, starting in Illinois,” Simon told reporters.
He said he will campaign in Illinois and other states outside the South for the next three weeks and will participate in the candidates’ debates.
Simon came in fourth in South Dakota’s Tuesday primary and trailed the “uncommitted” in Minnesota’s caucuses the same day.
