3M Acquires Photodyne, Maker of Testing Devices

Photodyne, a Camarillo-based maker of products used to test and measure telecommunications equipment, was acquired for an undisclosed price by Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing.
The acquired company, with 72 employees, will be renamed 3M Photodyne and will operate as part of 3M’s Dynatel Systems Division in Austin, Tex.
3M, which did $9 billion in sales last year, is headquartered in St. Paul. 3M is a diversified concern with interests in coatings, films, optics, electronics and pharmaceuticals.
