The Orange County Taxpayers Assn. will give a reception Thursday honoring state Sen. Marian Bergeson (R-Newport Beach) and Paul Gann, chairman of the People’s Advocate and author of the Gann spending-limit initiative.
The reception will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Center Club, 650 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa.
Other special guests will include Joel Fox, chairman of the California Tax Reduction Movement; Kirk West, president of the California Chamber of Commerce, and Richard Simpson, executive vice president of the California Taxpayers Assn.
Fox and Gann are proponents of an initiative on the June ballot that would update the Gann spending limit. The measure would dedicate revenues from state sales tax on motor vehicle fuels to the building and maintenance of highways, roads and mass transit guideways.
