Transportation will be the major topic of Rancho Santa Margarita’s first town meeting at 7:30 p.m. today in the Santa Margarita High School gym.
Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez, a gubernatorial appointee who is seeking election, will speak about the Foothill Circulation Phasing Plan, a program adopted by the Board of Supervisors that requires developers to pay for more than $200 million in new roads and traffic improvements before they can finish new housing projects.
“The goal of the town meeting is to provide residents of Rancho Santa Margarita with information some of the local transportation solutions now under way as well as provide a forum for discussing other issues important to the community,” said Bonnie Watson, president of the Community Activities and Services Assn.
