Ever the trouper, Bob Hope will host “Hollywood Salute to Broadway,” an AIDS research benefit slated for Saturday at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion despite prostate surgery earlier this week. “The word we get is that Bob Hope is still planning to do the event,” said a spokesman for the benefit’s organizers. Proceeds, with tickets costing from $50 to $2,500, will go toward a number of groups for AIDS education, research and clinical care.
