Some fancy folk around town will soon be receiving an invite to attend an art auction to benefit the South African Council of Churches.
It’s extended by “Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jackson and Family.” The to-do will be at their place. No address is listed. But an RSVP line will result in directions to . . . Michael Jackson’s posh Encino estate. Which figures, since Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jackson are better known as Michael’s folks--and “their” home is “his” home.
The April 10 gathering is being limited to serious art collectors. (Only 400 people can be accommodated.) Who better to spring for the likes of Picasso’s “Buste D’Homme”? Well, Michaelmania will be in evidence, too, via Faith Ringgold’s “Who’s Bad’?”--a painted quilt of the Buckled One.
