An Agua Dulce man was arrested on suspicion of murder Saturday after he called a sheriff’s station to say he had killed a Canyon Country man in an argument, authorities said.
Wendell Damron, 47, also known as Jim Bob Damron, dialed the emergency 911 number about 4:10 a.m. and told sheriff’s deputies he had just shot another man to death with a pistol, said Deputy Gabe Ramirez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies found the body of Michael D. Sharp, 31, in Damron’s home in the 30000 block of North Mesa Grande Road. Sharp had been shot several times, Ramirez said. Deputies found the handgun used in the shooting, he said.
Ramirez would not say what prompted the argument between the two men.
Damron was being held without bail Saturday at the Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of murder.
