CBS has officially named Susan Spencer anchor of the Sunday edition of the “CBS Evening News,” filling the Sunday anchor chair for the first time since Morton Dean left in 1984. Since then, several CBS news correspondents, including Forrest Sawyer, have alternated in the position. Spencer, who joined CBS as a reporter in 1977, has been anchoring the Sunday news on a temporary basis for the last six months. She will also continue as the network’s medical correspondent.
