St. Genevieve 23, Pater Noster 2--St. Genevieve knocked in 13 runs on five home runs in a Santa Fe League game that was called after six innings by mutual agreement.
Joe Cascione hit a grand slam and homered twice while knocking in six runs for host St. Genevieve. Danny Alvarez had six RBIs, including a three-run home run, and Ron Nielsen and Joe Chaparro had two-run home runs.
The Valiants had 22 hits, including 10 extra-base hits, off three Pater Noster pitchers. Mike Rohrbough (4-1) struck out seven and allowed four singles to get the win for St. Genevieve (10-1, 4-0 in league play).
Alemany 10, St. John Bosco 8-- St. John Bosco scored seven runs in the first inning, but Alemany battled back to take a Del Rey League game at St. John Bosco.
Mike Sins drove in two runs in the seventh inning with a bases-loaded single that proved to be the margin of victory. Sean Sosa and Jon Beauchemin each hit home runs for Alemany, which evened its league record at 2-2.
Edgewood 6, Royal 2--Mike Maldonado was 4 for 4 with two RBIs to lead the Trojans in a game that lasted six innings because of time limits.
Royal (9-4) entered the game after playing twice on Monday, including one game that didn’t start until 11:48 p.m.
“They were dragging a little bit, but once the game started, I don’t think the lack of sleep affected their play,” Royal Coach Mike McCurdy said.
Travis Kinyoun’s two-run single in the first inning gave Royal a 2-0 lead, but Edgewood (7-5) scored six runs in the last two innings.
Grace Community 23, Pilgrim 1--The Hawks sent 17 batters to the plate in a 15-run third inning on their way to a nonleague victory over Pilgrim that was called after four innings because of the 10-run rule.
Cal Frost had three hits and five RBIs for Grace Community (4-5), and Mark Flessati and Mike Tonthat added three RBIs each.
L.A. Lutheran 5, Marshall Fundamental 4--Chris Weinrich hit a two-run double in L.A. Lutheran’s four-run fifth inning in a nonleague game at Marshall Fundamental. L.A. Lutheran’s Brian Hiorthdahl had two RBIs.
Steve Dempsey picked up the win for L. A. Lutheran, which improves to 4-2. He struck out eight and walked two.
