Ethiopian warplanes dropped napalm bombs on the rebel-held town of Wukro, destroying famine relief supplies delivered by international relief agencies, the rebel Tigre People’s Liberation Front said. The attack by Soviet-built MIG-21s on the town in central Tigre province came as Liberation Front officials were distributing food, and 31 local people were killed or wounded in the raid, the rebels said. Wukro fell to the rebels only five days after a convoy of 72 trucks had delivered 1,500 tons of grain to famine relief agencies in the town.
