Division II Track and Field Meet : CSUN’s Arreola Wins 1,500

SAN ANGELO, Tex. — Sophomore Darcy Arreola of Cal State Northridge ran away from Teena Colebrook of Cal Poly (SLO) to win the women’s 1,500 meters Saturday, her second title in as many days in the NCAA Division II track and field championships at Angelo State.
Arreola finished in a stadium-record 4:20.61. Her two victories accounted for 20 of CSUN’s 29 points as the Lady Matadors finished ninth in the women’s scoring. The men’s team also placed ninth, scoring 38 points. Abilene Christian swept both team titles.
Lolita Pile of CSUN finished fourth in the women’s triple jump at 41 feet 5 inches.
Tyrone Jeffries had the top CSUN men’s performance, finishing fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 14.04 seconds.
Jeffries helped the Matadors run sixth in the 1,600-meter relay in 3:12.00. The CSUN women also finished sixth in the relay in 3:47.9.
