Residents of Orange County have never been known to sit back and let the world pass them by. From the beginning, individuality has been a hallmark of those who live here--from the communal life of the Pacentia Grass Eaters in the 1880’s to the agricultural innovations of James Irvine Jr. to the ultraconservatism of a number of politicians. But Orange County has had its lighter side, too: Funky fads and fashions have found their devotees, and Hollywood and its entourage have long been enamored of its scenic beauty.
