City College Student Dies of Beating Injuries

A 28-year-old San Diego City College student died Friday night of severe head injuries suffered several days before.
Solomon Worku of San Diego was beaten shortly before 9 p.m. last Sunday on the sidewalk in the 3600 block of 42nd Street. Several people repeatedly hit him on the head with a baseball bat, Bill Robinson, police spokesman said, adding that the suspects are still being sought.
Worku was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he remained unconscious, Tom Banaszak, nursing supervisor.
