Applied Solar Energy, City of Industry, has appointed Gerard McLarnon, 48, president and chief executive. He succeeds William L. Thompson, who has been elected vice chairman. McLarnon previously was president of Gould’s gallium arsenide and microwave products division, located in San Jose and Santa Clara, Calif.
