Olson Industries Posts $1.04-Million Loss
- Share via
Olson Industries, a Sherman Oaks manufacturer of plastic packaging products, posted a $1.04-million loss for the second quarter, compared with an $861,000 loss a year earlier.
Olson, whose sales in the three months that ended June 30 rose to $16 million from $15.1 million, has been struggling for the past few quarters. The company has blamed its losses largely on a jump in the cost of resins that serve as the raw materials for Olson’s packaging goods.
For the first half of 1988, Olson lost $1.46 million, compared with a year-earlier loss of $3.74 million, which included a $3.44-million loss from the disposal of Olson’s former egg business. Six-month sales rose to $33.6 million from $30.8 million.
