Wi Fades to Second in State Golf Meet

Charlie Wi, a junior at Westlake High, lost a four-stroke lead over the final 18 holes and was forced to settle for second place Wednesday in the California State Junior Golf Championships at Pebble Beach.
Wi, 16, struggled to a 79 to finish with a 54-hole total of 220. Alameda’s Eric Schroeder fired a final-round 74 to finish a steady 74-71-74 performance and edge Wi by a shot.
Fullerton’s Joon Lee was third, four strokes off the pace.
