Datametrics reported a 56% increase in earnings on a 38% increase in sales for the third quarter, which ended July 30.
The Chatsworth maker of printers for the military reported a third-quarter profit of $527,294, or 13 cents a share, compared to a profit of $336,867, or 8 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier. Sales climbed to $7.8 million compared to $5.6 million in the same period a year earlier.
Datametrics has undergone a partial management overhaul in the past two years and company Chairman Garland S. White attributed part of the improved results to increased factory productivity.
For the nine months, Datametrics’ earnings nearly doubled to $1.7 million, or 40 cents a share, compared to a profit of $858,140, or 13 cents a share, the previous year.
