Church Permit Denial
After the Democratic process had been fulfilled and the Korean Evangelical Church did not win its permit to build a church (Sept. 8), it accused residents surrounding the proposed church site of “bigotry.” This is akin to crying “wolf” when all else has failed.
It is ridiculous to assume that the addition of a church into a residentially zoned neighborhood would not noticeably increase the noise level and congestion above what already exists.
After attending the Garden Grove City Council meeting and listening to the pros, cons and the impartial consultants, the City Council should be commended for its vote in favor of the residents. It is refreshing to see a government body follow the wishes of its constituents.
