Leap From Bridge

An unidentified person jumped off the Coronado Bridge Monday afternoon, but no body was found in a search by San Diego Harbor Police.
The California Department of Transportation received reports about 5 p.m. of a person jumping from mid-span, and a car was later discovered abandoned on the bridge.
A Harbor Police spokesman said the body probably went to the bottom of the bay and might not surface for a week. A California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said the owner of the car had not been identified.
