Rookie quarterback Kelly Stouffer’s nose was broken during a play in which he threw a 46-yard touchdown pass for the Seahawks’ only score in Sunday’s loss to San Francisco.
Stouffer, inserted in the second half in place of Jeff Kemp, fell over guard Bryan Millard and was struck by running back Curt Warner’s elbow as Warner reached for a handoff. Stouffer then got up and threw his touchdown pass to Raymond Butler in the end zone.
Despite the broken nose, Stouffer finished the game, completing 11 of 15 passes for 133 yards. He was intercepted once.
