Iain Calder, president and editor of the National Enquirer, has been named chairman and president of GP Group, the parent company of the Enquirer and the Weekly World News. The company’s owner and founder, Generoso Pope Jr., died Oct. 2. David H. Galpern, who had been chief financial officer and senior vice president, was promoted to executive vice president of GP Group, Lantana, Fla. Calder remains editor of the Enquirer.
