Rosemead : Sister City Visit Ends
A 30-member delegation from Rosemead’s sister city, Zapopan, Mexico, went home Friday after a 10-day visit laden with gifts of medical equipment and the hope of resurrecting a student exchange program that has lapsed for a decade.
Zapopan Presidente Juan Jose Banuelos Guardado--the equivalent of a mayor in the United States--gave the city 20 paintings of sites in Zapopan visited by a delegation from Rosemead last year.
According to Hugh Foutz, a member of Rosemead’s Sister City Committee, Rosemead is hoping to host students from a Zapopan cultural center in December. The cities have been sister cities for 27 years.
