The gunman is still being sought in the drive-by shooting death of a San Diego man found in East San Diego, police said Wednesday.
Police answered a complaint about gunshots being fired Tuesday in the 4200 block of Central Avenue just before 9 p.m., police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Officers followed a trail of blood to the 4000 block of Orange Avenue and found a man in his 20s, lying on the ground, with wounds in his chest, Robinson said. He was taken to Mercy Hospital by ambulance and died at 9:33 p.m., a hospital spokeswoman said.
The victim had not been identified Wednesday, a coroner’s deputy said. An investigation is continuing.
