A federal agency gave Lorimar Telepictures conditional approval to put its three television stations in a trust to facilitate its merger with Warner Communications. A New York state judge on Sept. 28 delayed the merger pending sale of the stations. The order was sought by Warner’s biggest shareholder, Chris-Craft Industries, because of its agreement with Warner prohibiting either company from owning broadcasting stations other than that belonging to BHC Inc., a Chris-Craft subsidiary. Warner’s appeal of the decision is set for a Nov. 21 hearing in the New York Court of Appeals.
