Italian Cardinal Mario Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano, 85, a close aide to four Popes. Born in Piacenza, Nasalli Rocca was ordained a priest in 1927, consecrated as bishop in 1969 and elevated to cardinal the same year by Pope Paul VI. He served as close aide to Popes Pius XI, Pius XII, John XXIII and Paul VI. His death brings to 154 the number of members of the College of Cardinals, including 119 who are under the age of 80 and eligible to vote for a Pope. In Rome on Wednesday.
