Brian Propp scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and added another score in the third as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Islanders, 4-1, Tuesday night at Uniondale, N.Y.
“The short-handed goal really took the spark out of the Islanders,” Propp said. “It was a great play by (Dave) Poulin; I just put it in an empty net.”
The Flyers, 10-1-0 in their last 11 games, fell behind early but scored 4 straight times with Propp contributing the key goals.
After Moe Mantha tied it for the Flyers in the second period, Propp scored at 15:22 to put Philadelphia ahead for good. He then scored a short-handed goal at 10:47 of the third to give the Flyers a 2-goal lead.
