CBS is in “very, very active” discussions with “Murder, She Wrote” star Angela Lansbury about doing a sixth season of the show, which is one of the network’s few hits. Lansbury has said she only wanted to do the show for five years--and this is the fifth year. CBS Entertainment chief Kim LeMasters also reports that Bob Newhart has “expressed an interest” in doing another year of “Newhart,” and that Edward Woodward is under contract to star in “The Equalizer” for the 1989-90 TV season.
