Nation : Marcos in Hospital for Pneumonia

HONOLULU — Former Philippines President Ferdinand E. Marcos was in guarded condition today with pneumonia after entering St. Francis Medical Center for the third time in little more than a month, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The 71-year-old Marcos, also suffering from bronchial asthma, returned to the hospital Sunday afternoon and was moved to intensive care. His wife, Imelda, was with him at the hospital, a Marcos aide said. Marcos’ two previous hospital stays, one for nine days and the other for seven, were for treatment of congestive heart failure.
